Overview LONG TERM AND ELDERS CARE POLICY ANALYST (Re-advertisement) LONG TERM AND ELDERS CARE POLICY ANALYST (Re-advertisement) Tuesday April 1st, 2025 Department of Social & Cultural DevelopmentNunavut Tunngavik IncorporatedLocated in Iqaluit, NU The Long Term and Elder Care Policy Analyst plays a key role within the Department of Social and Cultural Development, assisting Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. to advance its health priority areas. The Long Term and Elder Care Policy Analyst will directly report to the Assistant Director - Health and work with a team to advance NTI’s mission. The Department is responsible for activities related to NTI’s obligations as the Designated Inuit Organization (DIO) under Article 32 of the Nunavut Agreement. Responsibilities Support NTI and the Department of Social and Cultural Development in advancing health priority areas related to long term and elder care. Collaborate with the team to advance NTI’s mission and fulfill obligations as the DIO under Article 32 of the Nunavut Agreement. Serve as a policy analyst, contributing to research, analysis, and development of policy options. Coordinate with Inuit organizations at regional, territorial, national, and international levels as needed. Prepare documentation and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or at least 3 years of equivalent work experience in health or social policy. Knowledge of the Nunavut Agreement, especially Article 32, NTI’s Mission, and NTI’s Corporate Governance system. Knowledge of regional, territorial, national, and international Inuit organizations. Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to Inuit issues and knowledge of health-related issues affecting Inuit in Nunavut. Proven ability to manage multiple files, meet deadlines, and work under pressure. Effective oral and written communication skills; fluency in Inuktut or Inuinnaqtun or willingness to undertake training to attain fluency are required. Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement. Compensation and Benefits Salary ranges from $125,587.00 to $167,453.00 per annum (commensurate with experience) with a comprehensive benefits package including an employee pension plan, group insurance, and vacation travel assistance. Housing allowance of $35,865.00 is provided.
