The position is intended to provide Engineering students an opportunity to experience many elements of a career in Radio Network Engineering.ResponsibilitiesCreate and maintain technical mapsGenerate network simulations based on projected scenariosDrive Test Data Collection and PresentationConduct field surveys & site evaluations of existing and potential future wireless sitesCreate and maintain technical documentationDevelop tools to streamline engineering and performance related processes / evaluationsQualificationsElectrical or Computer Engineer Student (specialization in Telecommunications desirable)Knowledge of current wireless technologies an assetValid Nova Scotia Driver’s LicenseExcellent computer and database query skills (VB, Oracle)Proficiency in Microsoft Office ApplicationsKnowledge of MapInfo or similar GIS application as assetSelf-motivated and able to work in a team environmentStrong interpersonal and written communication skillsProven analytical, problem solving and decision making skillsHighly motivated and results-driven individualEastlink is focused on creating an environment which promotes individual growth and career satisfaction.
