OverviewThe Aircraft Metals Technician is responsible for the fabrication, modification, and maintenance of aircraft components and related equipment. This role involves working with a variety of metalworking machinery and welding processes, including oxy-acetylene, TIG, and electric-arc welding. The Aircraft Metals Technician will also interpret technical drawings and specifications, estimate materials and labor, and conduct preventive maintenance on equipment. Additional duties involve providing technical documentation, guidance, and solutions for both aircraft and non-aircraft related projects.Work environmentTogether, DND and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) form the largest and most complex organization in Canada.
