Business Porters Inc. has grown into a diverse group comprised of multiple companies operating across Canada. This evolution allows us to offer customers a full suite of asset-based transportation including over-the-road, cross-border, intermodal LTL and TL, drayage and transload, warehousing, distribution, logistics services, and final mile.
KEY ACTIVITIES:
Procure new and develop existing carrier relationships through lead generation, calling prospective trucking companies and different load boards.
Analyze load information, both dedicated and ad hoc, to assign the right carrier.
Contact carriers and negotiate the right equipment, price, and expectations.
Build strong relationships with the carriers through communication and ongoing monitoring of on time performance.
Leverage our technology systems and internal data to make informed decisions that will provide the right solutions to the customer and meet the company’s goals and targets.
Work with internal and external stakeholders to determine and implement the best solution.
Maintain timely and accurate communication with carriers multiple times per day and ensure shipment details are communicated and tracked in the system.
Negotiate any additional charges with carriers and assist to maintain the accuracy of the carrier information.
Understand current industry market conditions and communicate any carrier issues that might impact operations as a whole with the entire team.
Have a complete and thorough understanding of the needs of the customer and how the company’s services can most effectively meet those needs.
Provide exceptional service to our customers and carriers.
EXPERIENCE:
Have a positive and flexible attitude in a fast-changing environment.
Possess a minimum of 5 years experience in a 3PL dispatch environment.
Experience in Domestic USA and Canada/USA Cross-Border brokerage will be considered an asset.
Competent PC skills.
Thrive in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and drive by results.

Proven commitment to providing superior, timely internal and external customer service.
Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
