Job Description
Our client, a recognized boutique CPA Public Accounting Firm, is hiring a Senior Staff Accountant - Audit to join their growing Milton office.

Responsibilities

  1. Overall responsibility for the performance and execution of all types of engagements including audits, reviews, and compilations.
  2. Preparation of year-end entries, corporate tax returns, and other CRA filings.
  3. Engagement liaison between the client, client staff, and Firm staff.
  4. Analysis and review of personal tax returns.
  5. Completing personal tax returns for customers located throughout Canada.
Requirements
  1. A university degree or college diploma in accounting or in business with an emphasis on accounting - accounting designation (CPA) preferred.
  2. Must have 3-5 years of relevant experience including work in an accounting firm servicing owner-managed clients.
  3. Experience doing audits, reviews, and compilations is a strong asset.
  4. Proven experience delivering high-quality client engagements while balancing productivity requirements.
  5. Ability to accurately analyze and reconcile accounts.
  6. Extensive experience in preparing personal tax returns.
  7. A thorough understanding of Canada's tax system and the ability to identify possible errors and/or omissions.
  8. Must have experience with Caseware as well as Simply Accounting and/or Quickbooks.
  9. Previous experience with income tax software required (experience with Cantax is an asset).
  10. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  11. Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation) with a strong command of the English language.
  12. High level of attention to detail combined with strong organization and problem-solving skills.
  13. Ability to work well under pressure.
  14. Ability to work overtime when necessary and flexibility to work with changing priorities.
