Method Engineering Specialist

Adecco is currently recruiting for a Method Engineering position for a contract role. This role is with our client in Calgary. The Method Engineer will bring their expertise to the team, focusing on the development of technical instructions, tools, test equipment, and process optimization for improved reliability and cost-efficiency in components.

The Method Engineer will have the following responsibilities:

  • Write technical instructions for component repair activities and provide workshop support.
  • Design tools, test equipment, and software to test and certify components.
  • Research solutions to improve reliability and reduce costs on components.
  • Review equipment Service Bulletins (SBs) for the entire product portfolio to recommend improvements in terms of reliability or cost improvements.
  • Monitor component reliability in collaboration with key customers.
  • Responsible for technical investigation of customer component problems.
  • Actively support production in resolving problems in a timely manner.
  • Review maintenance manuals and establish requirements for testing equipment, technician training, and material requirements.
  • Manage individual projects throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
  • Prepare financial justifications to support new products.
  • Assist in technician training.
  • Review and implement technical repairs to recover parts.

The Method Engineer must meet the following mandatory requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar environment in the aeronautics industry.
  • Specialty:
    Mechanical systems (Flat, Flap, hydraulic, etc.), Structural.
  • Scope of work:
    D-515, production support, work instruction creation, work order creation.
  • Very good knowledge of engineering and quality systems in an aeronautical environment.
  • In-depth experience with mechanical or avionics components.
  • Knowledge of the 5 “S” philosophy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
    able to read and understand maintenance manuals.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
    detail-oriented with excellent attention to detail.
