Software Development Engineer, Route 53

We run Amazon Route 53, a highly available and scalable cloud Domain Name System (DNS) service. Our day to day work is to design, develop, deploy and operate software that manages customer DNS data. Due to the critical nature of DNS, we try to make our software highly available, scalable, and efficient, which essentially requires developing complex distributed systems. As a result, members of our team are either experts in building robust distributed systems or are becoming experts.
We’re looking for a new teammate who is enthusiastic, empathetic, curious, motivated, and reliable; someone who will help us build on the positive team culture we’ve been cultivating.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary for this position ranges from $114,800/year up to $191,800/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
