The project:

The GO Expansion program is the largest transit infrastructure program in Canadian history. It will transform rail services in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA), providing two-way all-day GO train service and improved passenger experience with quieter and faster electric locomotives. The GO Expansion program includes early works, Off-corridor station and infrastructure upgrades, as well as an on-corridor program to deliver new tracks, platforms, facilities, grade separations and electrification. As the project progresses towards its implementation stage, careful consideration of means & methods becomes crucial for the successful execution of the construction activities.

The senior corridor scheduler is responsible for both leading a team and developing comprehensive plans for design & construction sequencing. They coordinate with various teams to ensure that activities are strategically planned, minimizing disruption to existing operations to integrate the corridor wide schedule. They analyse project requirements, logistics, and constraints to optimize construction timelines and resources.

You'll need to have:

  • Degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in construction planning and staging for large infrastructure projects, preferably in the railway industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, logistics planning, and resource management.
  • Familiarity with construction methodologies, safety regulations, and environmental considerations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

You'll also have:

  • Membership of APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
  • Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
