Director, Industrial Design and Innovation

We have created a new position of Director, Industrial Design and Innovation reporting to the Vice-President Innovation, to meet the new vision for differentiating our product centered around the principal customer experience. The person in this position will be responsible for creating the product experience for all our fleet, and most importantly the product experience for the owner/principle of the aircraft. In order to do that, this person needs a strong understanding of customer needs, and an ability to lead and execute on all our innovative products to meet that demand.

Key Responsibilities
  1. You will decide on all industrial design for our products, from styling and aesthetics to functionality and experience. These design decisions impact our principal end-customer experiences and their overall appreciation for our products.
  2. You will develop deep relationships with international design brands and luxury products, in order to determine which of those brands and products should be integrated into our aircraft.
  3. You will conduct research into emerging design and technology trends.
  4. You will present our design ideas, concepts and products to customers and gather feedback from our end-customers and representatives.
  5. You will create a detailed and inspiring vision on how to identify and meet customers’ needs for business aircraft.
  6. You will lead, plan, organize and execute projects with a team of highly skilled and diverse designers.
  7. You will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to rapidly experiment and iterate on design concepts to bring them to reality.
As our ideal candidate
  1. You have a university degree in Industrial Design or equivalent, with an MBA preferably.
  2. You have 20+ years of experience in Industrial Design, Interior Design, R&D and related activities.
  3. You have a track record of design innovation successes.
  4. You have a good understanding of the Business Aircraft Industry, key players, markets and customers.
  5. You are creative, collaborative and driven to innovate.
  6. You are a solid communicator to engage people and generate buy-in.
  7. You have experience leading a team.
