About the position:

We are looking for a Retail Business Analyst to join our finance team. In this role, you will deliver in-depth data analysis and actionable insights to support business growth and development. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams—such as operations, buying, marketing, finance, and logistics—you will analyze sales trends, forecast demand, and drive performance optimization across the organization.

Main responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyze, and organize sales data to deliver actionable insights and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop automated dashboards and prepare regular or ad hoc sales reports (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) to analyze customer trends, sales, profitability, and KPIs, highlighting areas for improvement and informing strategic decisions.
  • Evaluate market trends and consumer behaviour to identify growth opportunities and support strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with operations and planning teams to forecast product demand, promotional needs, and inventory requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Oversee and optimize business intelligence (BI) tools to maintain data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility for all users.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to BI platform users, acting as the primary contact for queries on retail performance.
  • Test and implement new BI functionalities and tools in collaboration with the central BI team.
  • Conduct top-line analysis and provide insights to support monthly reporting, financial forecasting, budgeting, and the development of business cases.

Required qualifications (education, experience and skills):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Economics, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in sales analysis, preferably within the retail sector.
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in data analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas), PowerPoint, and data visualization tools like Power BI or Targit.
  • Familiarity with financial planning tools like IBM Cognos or Oracle EPM is a plus.
  • Knowledge of retail-specific KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong independent and collaborative work skills, with a focus on results.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Bilingual in English and French.

To be considered for the position, candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria as the position is based in an airport. They must either be Canadian citizens, permanent residents of Canada or hold a valid Canadian work permit that does not require sponsorship. Additionally, candidates must not have travelled outside Canada for more than 6 months in the last 5 years. It is important to note that our interview process does not extend overseas and we do not provide relocation assistance. Additionally, we do not participate in LMIA or any sponsorship programs.
