Software Deployment Specialist

Reporting to the Manager, Service Desk, the Software Deployment Specialist will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of software deployments, including planning, preparation, testing, execution, and monitoring. This role also involves maintaining an up-to-date and secure software inventory. Additionally, the Software Deployment Specialist will participate in operational upgrades and support various security-related tasks as needed.
How you will make an impact
- Effectively prioritize the remediation of security related issues to help reduce cybersecurity risks.
- Develop and maintain deployment plans for software updates and patching.
- Coordinate with development and security teams to ensure that the software meets all requirements.
- Ensure that deployments are executed on time and with minimal disruption to users.
- Monitor the system during and after deployment to ensure that it is functioning properly.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the deployment process.
- Ensure BioScript system remains in compliance by applying identified fixes and configurations.
- Communicate with all stakeholders regarding the status of the deployment.
- Continuously improve the deployment process, identifying and mitigating risks.
- Other tasks to assist the security team with operational or project needs.
What you’ll bring to our team
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in deployment, patching or a related field.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle and business impacts.
- Experience with deployment tools, such as Intune, MECM, WSUS or similar.
- Excellent communication, planning and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Ability to work some after hours.
