Our client in the manufacturing sector is looking for a contract based Technical project manager to assist with their SAP implementation. Focus will be on the Data Stream to oversee the data migration and integration processes. This role involves ensuring successful migration from legacy systems, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership:
    Lead the SAP data stream for the S/4HANA implementation, including planning, execution, and delivery of all data-related activities.
  • Data Migration:
    Oversee the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to migrate data from legacy systems to the S/4HANA platform.
  • Data Strategy:
    Develop and execute a robust data migration and management strategy aligned with project timelines and business requirements.
  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with business and IT stakeholders, functional leads, and technical teams to ensure data readiness and integration.
  • Data Governance:
    Ensure data integrity, quality, and consistency throughout the migration process.
  • Risk Management:
    Identify potential data migration risks and develop mitigation plans to address them proactively.
  • Vendor Management:
    Coordinate with external vendors to ensure successful delivery of data migration and integration tasks.
  • Documentation:
    Maintain comprehensive documentation of data processes, mapping, and configurations for future reference.
  • Training & Support:
    Provide guidance and training to in-house teams on data migration tools and methodologies as needed.

requirements:

  • Experience:
    Minimum of 10 years of experience in technical project management with some experience in SAP and S/4HANA implementations.
  • Technical Expertise:
    Proficiency in SAP Data Services, LSMW, or other ETL tools, and experience with data migration methodologies for SAP projects.
  • Knowledge:
    Strong understanding of legacy systems (e.G., ECC, custom applications) and how to transition data to S/4HANA.
  • Project Methodologies:
    Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project management approaches.
  • Analytical Skills:
    Expertise in data profiling, cleansing, and validation techniques to ensure high-quality data migration.
  • Communication Skills:
    Exceptional ability to communicate complex data migration concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with cloud-based SAP environments and integrations.
  • Knowledge of master data governance (MDG) tools and processes.
  • Background in leading data streams within large, multi-phase ERP projects.
