Group SummaryThe Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group specializes in automotive technologies that are driving the future of mobility. Combining a deep systems knowledge to develop unique vehicle access experiences, intelligent visions systems and advanced automotive lighting technologies, MML's expertise light the path to innovation, safety and styling.
Maintains all programmable controllers (both hardware and software), electronics components and systems of all shop floor machines.
Your Responsibilities• Remain up-to-date on new innovations in the field by reading and engaging in self-study of technical publications. Also learns through maintaining contact with outside electrical technicians to share information to improve skills in the field.
• Maintain all PLC programs and software and maintain confidentiality therein.
• Engage in training on new advancements in the field.
• Participate in maintenance department meetings and provide input and suggestions for improvement based on technical knowledge.
• Interact with other maintenance employees to exchange technical information to facilitate teamwork in troubleshooting and repair process.
• Responsible to protect own health and safety by working in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures.
• Operate laptop computer to troubleshoot and change PLC programs.
• Repair electronic parts.
• Design and modify electronics and electrical circuits.
• Receive communication from production staff pertaining to repairs required.
• Maintains and updates revision log notes after all edits.
• Keeps supervisor aware of repairs and modifications required and performed.
• Perform other duties as required
• Completion of high school or equivalent.
• 1 to less than 3 years of work related experience.
• A Community College diploma in Electronics and Systems Control.
• Previous experience working with PLC software tools (Omron, Seimens, A-B).
• 3 years previous experience in developing practical electronics and basic mechanical knowledge.
• 3 years experience working on programmable computers.
