We are seeking an experienced Business Continuity Specalist to join our team at Control Risks. As the Business Continuity Specialist, you will play a critical role within our client's security team helping improve BC programs and other security needs.

This role is for a 6-month contract.

  • Assist with developing, maintaining, or implementation of resiliency solutions, including business continuity plans, business impact analysis, and documentation of procedures.
  • Help plan, facilitate, observe, and debrief regular mock-disaster exercises to test the adequacy of existing plans and strategies.
  • Analyze impact on, and risk to, essential business functions to identify acceptable recovery time periods and resource requirements.
  • Support Client event security team in the execution of safe secure and successful events, ranging from large internal (non-public) Client events to large marquee public events
  • Conduct desktop or in-person assessment of venues in Toronto/Toronto area, with the possibility of conducting some limited assessments at other locations in Canada
  • Develop event-specific issues management playbook
  • Where feasible and at the discretion of Client, support the build out of elements of the broader corporate program, including but not limited to executive protection and travel risk management
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
  • 5-7 years of experience in government, corporate security or a similar role
  • Event security or close protection experience
  • Ability to understand and mitigate threat-related considerations in various event settings
  • Ability to provide measured and timely guidance under pressure
