Job Overview
Regional Janitorial and Maintenance is ready to inspire a Janitorial Expert in our expansion of evolving janitorial and maintenance projects across all client facilities in the Niagara Region. Reporting to the Team Lead, the Janitorial Expert’s primary accountability is balancing the execution of janitorial client services and maintenance projects.
Salary: $18.00/hr
Employment Type: Full-time, permanent
Schedule: 11:00pm to 4:00am during the week and weekends
Key Accountabilities
- Lead by example; join our Janitorial Associates and Team Lead in preparing, cleaning, and maintaining client facilities.
- Review and execute janitorial project deliverables with the Team Lead according to the specifications and schedule.
- Be an equal-business partner; join the leadership Team in staying up to date on industry trends and best practices.
- Foster and promote a positive and safe work culture.
- Collaborate with the Team Lead and Operations Manager to address client inquiries and requests.
- Support the training and development of Janitorial Associates with the Team Lead.
- Ensure that services are performed according to service specifications and scheduling while exceeding client expectations.
- Actively and consistently collaborate in health and safety, security and cleanliness initiatives.
- Report any malfunctions and repair needs relating to restrooms, elevators, waste containers and alarm systems to the Team Lead.
- Maintain and use a variety of cleaning and maintenance equipment and tools.
- Assist the Team Lead with the logistics of project materials.
- Participate and contribute to ongoing learning and development programs onsite and through a variety of e-Learning platforms.
- Commute with the Team Lead to multiple facilities and sites within one shift.
Job Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of maintenance, janitorial or custodial experience and expertise.
- Experience working in a client-centric environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Self-drive in meeting project deliverables, deadlines, and client expectations.
- Positive, professional, safety oriented and client-centric attitude.
- Proven experience as a collaborative Team player.
- Ability to commute with the Team Lead to multiple locations within the Niagara Region.
- Intermediate technology literacy with cell phones, computers, email and online applications.
- Possess a cell phone required to communicate through phone, text and email with the Operations Team every shift.
- Ability to meet the Team Lead at a centralized meeting location in Niagara Falls in order to be picked up and dropped off from the commute.
- Professional working proficiency of the English language.
- Ability to work in diverse weather conditions in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Working knowledge of janitorial and maintenance operations, best practices, and standard procedures.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, stand for long periods and lift and work with materials up to 55 lbs.
- Possess a clear criminal record.
- Ability to work overtime hours and according to schedules that meet the needs of Regional's evolving projects.
