Responsibilities

  • Lead the proposal, planning and delivery of consulting engagements with a focus on strategy and planning services with primary on public sector entities, with accompanying work in the private, not-for-profit and Indigenous sectors.
  • Execute strategic planning, transformation planning, business planning, feasibility studies, operational planning, program review, program re-design, financial analysis and other forms of management consulting.
  • Manage engagement planning and scheduling as well as project financials (budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition).
  • Identify innovative ways to deliver added value to clients; ensure client needs are met, plus grow and develop long-term client relationships.
  • Review, design and develop high-quality deliverables including reports, presentations and other correspondence.
  • Maintain high quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues or key risks relevant to the client’s business.
  • Network in the local business community, consider business development opportunities and lead the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals to meet client needs.
  • Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews.
  • Contribute to strategic and operational planning related to client and practice management, as well as the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes.
  • Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary.
Skills And Experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in public administration, public policy, business, economics, political science or other related fields.
  • CMC, PMP, Lean or other related certifications are considered an asset.
  • 8+ years of consulting experience, ideally in a client-service environment, would be considered an asset.
  • Strong business development and practice management skills.
  • Demonstration of advanced project management skills and tactics.
  • Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills.
  • Strong strategic planning and conceptual thinking skills.
