Job Description: As a Registered Clinical Counsellor at Altea Physiotherapy and Wellness, you’ll be able to provide professional counselling services to individuals dealing with various mental health concerns and life challenges. Your role will involve:
- Conducting counselling sessions in a confidential and supportive environment.
- Assessing clients’ needs, concerns, and goals through comprehensive intake interviews and ongoing assessment processes.
- Developing personalized treatment plans based on the client’s strengths, resources, and preferences, utilizing evidence-based counselling techniques and modalities.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, community agencies, and referral sources to coordinate care and provide holistic support to clients.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records, progress notes, and treatment documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Staying informed about current developments and best practices in the field of counselling through ongoing professional development and continuing education activities.
- Adhering to ethical guidelines and professional standards of practice established by the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
Requirements:
- Registered Clinical Counsellor certification in British Columbia.
- Both new graduates and experienced clinicians are welcome to apply.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of therapeutic techniques, including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, and trauma-informed care.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
- Cultural competence and sensitivity to diversity issues, with experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds and identities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to providing high-quality care to clients.
