Hillsdale Terraces

This position is located at Hillsdale Terraces in Oshawa, Ontario.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement group and individual recreation programs to meet the identified needs and interests of the residents.
  • Work cooperatively with other members of the care team.
  • Participate in care planning, evaluation, and documentation.
  • Be able to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.

Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary diploma in Recreation and Leisure, Therapeutic Recreation, Kinesiology or equivalent.
  • Previous recreation experience in a long-term care facility or Adult Day Program is preferred.
  • Certification with volunteer management and 2 to 5 years experience in coordinating volunteers would be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated compliance with and knowledge of safe work practices.
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated report writing and documentation skills.
  • Physical ability to perform the essential duties of the job.

Salary Information:

The hourly rate range for this position is $30.05 to $31.15.

Conditions of Employment:

The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check dated within two (2) months from date of hire. Additionally, tuberculosis screening will be required in accordance with the FLTC Act (O.Reg. 246/22). Proof of education, qualifications and any other job bona fide requirements will also be collected. Finally, compliance with the Mask Fit Testing Program is required and will be coordinated as part of the orientation process.
