Edmonton, Canada AMA - Alberta Motor Association Full time

** NOTE: This is a 12-18 month contract. **
Do you have a knack for navigating complex financial systems as a seasoned project manager? Do you thrive by leading teams in design coordination, configuration and testing required to successfully implement Workday Financial Systems? You are an experienced motivator to team members and know how to get things done. As the Workday Project Manager, you will work with our Executive Sponsors, functional, and technical team leads to implement the Workday Financial ERP System for AMA, while overseeing constraints (scope, schedule and resources) and establishing project governance. If you love having the overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, development, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project, this role is meant to be for you. When it comes to working with a team, you’re the whole package – team player, supportive coach and always the enthusiastic cheerleader. To put it simply, you are the champion of a project.

WHAT MOVES YOU
You're a master multi-tasker who can juggle a variety of projects with ease — you have no problem getting things done.
You’re a spirited team leader who knows how to motivate your team to get results.
You're a flexible and responsive team player who is comfortable working with all levels in an organization.
You love to share thoughts and ideas – after all, two heads are always better than one.
You’re a natural when it comes to finding simple solutions to complicated problems and explaining them to others.
You’re both a right-brain and a left-brain thinker and have a good balance between your innovative side and quantitative analytical abilities.
You can strategize and execute integrated digital and traditional initiatives across a range of platforms.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Direct and lead a complex Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)/Finance implementation project involving internal and external partners; from identifying requirements through defining future state and benefits realization.
Play an integral role in the development of a new ERP system.
Drive project deliverables, process adjustments, and provide guidance to project team and stakeholders.
Ensure project plan is aligned with business expectations and strategy.
Be the chief subject-matter-expert for Project; source of truth.
Ensure the project team meets desired standards and any compliance requirements.
Create and maintain Project Artifacts - project charter, project and integration plan(s), schedules, decisions, change orders, risks and mitigations, SDLC, data migration plans and status reporting within the standards of project management methodologies adopted by the PMO.
Work closely and collaboratively with other project teams, business areas and external parties to ensure interdependencies are identified early and managed successfully.
Ensure all application changes are developed, tested and implemented in a well-controlled environment.
Participate in cross-functional teams that will complete the following: initial research and design, creating and pitching proposals, driving implementation, evaluation and review, and performance monitoring.
Lead workshops for client education and information gathering sessions.
Conduct regular analysis to identify opportunities and develop strategies to improve performance on key KPIs.
Increase overall effectiveness, efficiency and profitability through operational improvements and smart resourcing.

WHAT YOU’VE DONE
You are passionate about Workday and have recent experience with project managing Workday Finance ERP implementations.
Experience in implementing various functional areas in Workday Finance including Core Financials, Expenses, Procurement, Prism Analytics, Financial Planning, Workforce Planning and Strategic Sourcing.
Demonstrated experience working on large implementation projects with multiple vendors.
At least 5 years leading & managing major IT initiatives and enterprise software projects.
You have a post secondary education in a related field with 10 years of experience in project management.
Experience at managing multi-discipline projects which include both business and technical resources from inception through delivery to benefits realization.
Experience with project management and collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and AzureDevops (ADO).
Project management designation (PMP, PMI-ACP, Prince2, etc) would be considered an asset.
Financial or accounting experience and/or designation would be considered an asset.
Exceptional communication skills across a range of forums and channels and with senior level stakeholders.
Your project management skills are impeccable at every stage – planning, analysis, problem solving, delivery and communication.
