Health & Safety Coordinator (Camp Environment)

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, implement, and enforcehealth and safety policies and procedures tailored to the campenvironment.
  • Ensure all workers have sitespecific orientations
  • Regularlymonitor safety compliance of workers and subcontractors by conductingformal and informal site inspections and institute corrective actions ifrequired
  • Ensurecompletion of regular site inspection reports from site supervisors arecompleted on a weekly basis.
  • Updatethe safety data sheet/binder as required
  • Assistwith incident/injury/near-miss reporting and complete investigations withcorrective actions
  • Assist/conductfield safety meetings, toolbox talks, and health and safety informationalawareness
  • Reviewtask cards submitted by Supervisors
  • Assistproject manager with safety compliance
  • Educateworkers and supervisors in health and safety policies and procedures
  • Continuouslyaudit and monitor the worksite

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experiencein Health and Safety within the construction industry.
  • ValidDriver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Workingknowledge of the Ontario Health and Safety Regulations
  • Willingto work 10-to-12-hour days, when required.
  • Safetyconscious and attentive to the working environment they are in.
  • Abilityto work independently and unsupervised.
  • Incidentinvestigation training/experience is considered an asset

Job Types: 6 month Contract,opportunity for contract extension based on performance
