We are hiring a Director of Engineering

We are looking for a Director of Engineering who is enthusiastic about collaborating with exceptional tech talent. In this role, you will partner with our product and development teams, as well as closely engage with key stakeholders across the organization.

As a Software Engineering Director at Globalization Partners, you will lead teams of talented engineers, providing technical expertise and leadership guidance to develop G-P Emerging products in collaboration with Product, Architecture, and other functional teams.

What you can expect to do:
  1. Work with the Head of Engineering and Engineering leadership to define the current and long-range direction of software development.
  2. Lead all aspects of the engineering lifecycle; prioritize and evaluate the work generated by our team to ensure effective and timely product delivery; identify and address gaps in requirements, design, and production by working with teams on practical solutions.
  3. Design, implement, and monitor all operations and key performance metrics for the engineering team; identify risks, monitor day-to-day team activities, assess aggregate technical risks across a product/program, and work on operational efficiency.
  4. Collaborate with the Product, Architects, and Engineering leadership to define the current and long-term vision of the G-P Platform, influence the roadmap, engineering culture, and drive engineering and operations efficiencies.
  5. Recruit, engage, develop, and retain a world-class team recognized as leaders in the industry through thoughtful leadership and collaborative team building.
  6. Support the team by ensuring productivity, continual improvement, best engineering practices, strong support for career growth, and personal development.
  7. Evaluate new technologies and solutions in the market, stay updated on trends, and foster an innovation mindset.
  8. Advocate for agile methodologies and Software Development Cycle best practices.
  9. Evolve our product to enhance the customer experience, differentiate in the market, and ensure leading business performance metrics.
  10. Engage closely with customers and key stakeholders.
What we are looking for:

We seek a candidate with:

  • Solid software engineering background, with 15+ years of experience in developing enterprise-scale web/cloud-based commercial software products.
  • 3+ years of experience in managing a team of leaders and driving changes through leaders.
  • 8+ years of experience leading complex software development projects through all phases of the software development life cycle using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong experience with both backend and frontend technologies such as Java, Node.js, React, iOS, Android.
  • Strong knowledge of modern cloud architectures and technologies, with experience in AWS and Serverless as a plus.
  • Experience in transforming engineering teams from feature factories to empowered product teams.
  • Experience in a startup or high-growth environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience in working with globally distributed teams.
  • Passion for taking on challenges and eagerness to work in an evolving new market.
