Location: Halifax, NS (Candidate willing to relocate to Halifax after 3 to 6 months would also be considered)

Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Automation Tester with 7 to 12 years of experience to join our team. The candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. The ideal candidate will have experience in both manual and automated API as well as a strong understanding of backend testing. This role is critical to ensuring the integrity and reliability of the various data points within our systems.

What you’ll do:
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Java and Rest API to ensure robust testing coverage.
  • Reviews automated test runs, reports on test execution and coverage statuses and maintains broken automated tests.
  • Creates test strategies and plans for the team and assists other teams when needed.
  • Helps test automation effort, advocating for automation and contributes to framework design and suggests process improvements.
  • Plans and performs tests to cover functional, integration, compatibility and regression needs and reports back findings to the Team.
  • Use Jira for defect tracking and project management ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Implement and manage build processes using Maven to streamline development workflows.
  • Coordinate with multi-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues promptly.
  • Provide detailed reports on testing outcomes highlighting areas for improvement.
What you bring to the role:
  • Minimum 5+ years of extensive experience in Java and Rest API development.
  • Possess a strong background in Cucumber, ReadyAPI, TestNG and ALM.
  • Good understanding of Web services, databases.
  • Strong background in test automation with back-end automation tools.
  • 2+ years of experience with SoapUI or Postman.
  • Be skilled in using Jira for defect tracking and project management.
  • Show expertise in implementing and managing build processes with Maven.
  • Have a deep understanding of Stores Inventory Management systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Jenkins and Scrum methodologies.
