Title: Intermediate Lab Technicia – Highways Division, Asphalt Plant

Reports To: Senior QC Technician & Lab Manager

Job Summary:

The Intermediate Lab Technician is responsible for the testing of the asphalt mix being supplied by an asphalt plant. Tests include but not limited to asphalt content determination by asphalt ignition oven, sieve analysis, forming Marshall briquette samples for density determination and maximum theoretical density of asphalt mix.

Abilities Required:

An Intermediate Lab Technician will possess past experience in testing asphalt and carry a valid class 5 driver’s license. A background in Civil Engineering Technology and / or minimum 5 years asphalt testing experience is necessary. The ideal candidate must be well organized, possess excellent written, verbal, and computer skills and the ability to multi-task and be able to handle a fast-paced environment. This position requires too work long hours and possibly up to 24 consecutive days anywhere within the province of Saskatchewan and Alberta. Successful applicant must be able to meet all safety requirements and adhere to all applicable safety policies.
