Buckland is looking for a Junior Accountant.


What you’ll be doing

The Junior Accountant provides support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. This role is part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances. The Junior Accountant will be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and have a great attention to detail.


You will be responsible for…
  1. Prepare the General Ledger detail and supporting reconciliations.
  2. Reconcile and maintain Capital Assets Accounts.
  3. Prepare monthly Financial Statements.
  4. Prepare year-end account reconciliation and reporting in preparation of year-end review by external auditors.
  5. Process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
  6. Perform accounts payable duties as necessary.
  7. Perform accounts receivable duties as necessary.
  8. Work with team members and other departments to manage reporting requirements across the organization.
  9. Compile or review internal financial reports used by other departments.
  10. Perform other responsibilities as required.

What we need from you
  1. Post-secondary education, preferable in Business and Finance.
  2. 1 year of experience at Junior financial level, or equivalent.
  3. Working towards an accounting designation.
  4. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  5. Highly adaptable to changing technology.
  6. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Access, Word).
  7. Strong interpersonal, communications and multi-tasking skills.
  8. Ability to work independently.
