The Team
Our Project Management Team is a dynamic and evolving group, currently consisting of two dedicated professionals with plans to expand. Our team is part of the Provincial Priorities Branch which oversees key provincial programs and priorities for the Service Delivery Division. The branch’s programs include Specialized Homes & Support Services (SHSS), Strengthening Abilities & Journeys of Empowerment (SAJE), Child & Youth with Special Needs (CYSN), Provincial Resources, Workforce Strategy, Enhanced Child Safety, and Emergency Management. As a newer team, we lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of key priority projects that directly impact the children, youth, young adults, and families we serve. The Role
As the Senior Project Manager, you will lead and oversee complex projects that span multiple programs, using your expertise in project and change management to ensure successful outcomes. Your work will directly contribute to improving the lives of children, youth, young adults, and families, making a tangible difference in the community. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree in business administration, public administration, or related field (related field includes public sector, social sector, project management, management and leadership), OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Must be qualified to complete the Project Management Professional Designation within six (6) months of commencement.
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience at a senior level leading major projects of large scale and complexity that have multiple project delivery components.
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience establishing collaborative relationships with executives and leading organizational change associated with implementation.
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience leading and coaching multi-disciplinary senior level professionals and/or managers in the development and implementation of complex projects.
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience in the direct supervision of staff including the assignment of work and monitoring employee performance.
  • Experience in business planning, contract management, financial management, and negotiations.

Preference may be given for:

  • Project Management Professional Certification.
  • Prosci Change Management Certification.
  • Lean Certification.
  • Experience working with Indigenous clients and partners in the social sector.
  • Experience managing projects in the childcare and/or social sector and/or a public facing social service delivery organization.
  • Applicants who identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.

About this Position:
Currently there is one temporary opportunity available until March 31, 2025. A permanent appointment may result from this temporary opportunity. This position can be based out of any of the community locations listed above. Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 4 days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement. A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required. An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies. Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment. This position is excluded from union membership.
