Description:

The Senior Practice Lead is responsible for supporting the service delivery model for new and complex practice initiatives across Covenant Health and providing leadership to inform strategic clinical workforce planning. The incumbent in this position provides leadership in the overall planning and strategy for interprofessional training and education requirements; responds to interprofessional consultation from national agencies and provincial regulators; leads best practice and interprofessional strategic project teams; creates organizational guidelines, benchmarking and makes informed judgment on what is best for client and population needs relative to discipline(s), area of practice and/or specialization. You would be expected to anticipate challenges and opportunities and work towards resolution of identified barriers related interprofessional practice supporting workforce planning strategies. You develop and foster strong collaboration with others, i.e., colleagues, AHS and Covenant Health leaders, staff, regulatory bodies, professional associations, and government.You would leverage your strong leadership skills to lead clinical practice initiatives addressing provincial priorities and holding accountability for deliverables; Work with key stakeholders and other government ministries to align interprofessional practice initiatives with our organizational strategy; Provide clinical practice recommendations to strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of the services delivered; Assesses how the Regulatory Colleges’ changes to legislated scope of practice will impact/fit within Covenant Health. Required Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in an Allied Health Sciences field is required with appropriate licensure and designation. A minimum of 5 years in a health care practice consultation or interprofessional development role in a health service organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills. Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and foster a knowledge culture in a complex environment. Proven planning, prioritizing, and organizational skills. Team building, problem solving and conflict resolution ability. Negotiating skills and the ability to promote group decision making within an interprofessional team. Demonstrated ability to build and foster collaboration with multiple stakeholders, caregivers, senior management, and external agencies.


Preferred Qualifications:

A master’s degree is preferred. An understanding of the roles of various disciplines, regulatory bodies, and organizations within Alberta’s integrated health system, as well as an understanding of Clinical applications such as Connect Care and Microsoft Teams would be an asset. Experience in leading interprofessional practice initiatives &/or teams diverse clinical care settings would be an asset.
