Overview

Salto Gymnastics seeks a visionary and strategic leader to fulfill the role of Executive Director. This individual will be directly responsible for overseeing a wide spectrum of organizational activities, including strategic planning, leadership, financial management, program development, human resources, and community relations. Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will align organizational activities with the club’s vision, objectives, and strategic plans, ensuring a standard of excellence across all operations.


The scope of this position is broad. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:


Board Liaison:

  • Assists the Board with the development of comprehensive organizational strategies.
  • Provides insight to the Board regarding the development of necessary club policies.
  • Functions as a consultant and resource to the Board.
  • Ensures timely and effective communication with the Board.
  • Ensures messaging from the Board is circulated to staff in a timely manner.
  • Attends all monthly Board Meetings and present a monthly report on the status of the business.


Administration:

  • Oversees the development of all management systems and procedures for the club.
  • Ensures that policies are implemented and adhered to by all staff.
  • Oversees all marketing and advertising including the website and social platforms.
  • Ensures record keeping/retention conforms to applicable legislative/legal requirements and established best practices.
  • Responsible for all property and equipment owned, rented or leased by the organization


Finance:

  • In collaboration with the Treasurer, draft and monitor the annual operating budget.
  • Assess financial priorities for the club and recommend appropriate courses of action.
  • Authorize all business expenditures ensuring they align with the approved budget.
  • Ensure day-to-day financial operations are completed efficiently.
  • Identify and pursue all appropriate revenue sources, government grants and sponsorship opportunities.


Fundraising:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy.
  • Identify potential sources of revenue and submit proposals/grants, as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain any documentation and/or licensing required by AGLC
  • Managerial oversight of all fundraising/sponsorship activities, in conjunction with the fundraising committee.
  • Develop a strategy to meet or exceed all fundraising targets, goals and objectives.
  • Establish positive and lasting relationships with individual donors.


Personnel:

  • Managerial oversight of all areas pertaining to human resource management.
  • Ensures that proper performance management systems and schedules are in place.
  • Establish clear lines of communication and authority at all levels of the organization, while promoting a culture of accountability and performance excellence.
  • Establish and maintain effective employee.
  • Negotiate and resolve conflicts between staff members in order to promote and maintain a healthy workplace culture.
  • Maintain a climate that attracts, retains, and motivates a diverse staff of highly motivated employees.


Public Relations:

  • Ability to articulate (written and oral) the organization’s mission statement and vision to the staff, board, volunteers, and the overall community.
  • Promote the objectives of the organization by establishing positive working relationships with: employees, volunteers, membership, Board and committees, the public, local, provincial and national gymnastics organizations, government departments, the media and other cultural agencies.
  • Develop and maintain professional liaisons with the community in support of areas of mutual concern.


Please note that prior experience in a gymnastics environment is not required.

The successful candidate must present a successful criminal record check (with vulnerable sector screen) prior to commencing employment.


Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year depending on experience and qualifications. This is based on a schedule of 37.5 hours per week.

This position is based out of the Salto Gymnastics Club in Sherwood Park, Alberta.
