Robert Half is seeking a meticulous and experienced Bookkeeper to join our client's growing team in Vaughan, Ontario. Key Responsibilities:Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and bookkeeping processes.Generate, review, and analyze financial statements—including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports—to deliver actionable insights.Complete complex account reconciliations, such as bank statements and inter-company transactions, ensuring reliability and accuracy.Provide strategic financial advice to clients, assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and performance optimization.Administer payroll processes, ensuring accurate calculations and compliance with tax and benefits regulations.Support clients with tax preparation tasks, including quarterly and annual filings, adhering to current tax laws.Train and guide clients or team members on accounting software platforms like QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage.Collaborate closely with clients to address discrepancies and improve financial strategies for their businesses.Ensure all financial operations meet local and federal compliance standards.Contribute to the improvement of internal bookkeeping procedures and workflows.Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably working with small to mid-sized businesses.Proficiency in bookkeeping software such as QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage, alongside advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliation processes.Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.Ability to guide and mentor less experienced team members while maintaining strong client relationships.Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance standards relevant to bookkeeping.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in financial records.
