Who we are looking for:

Sasco, a division of Atkore, is currently searching for a Manufacturing Supervisor for our Plant located in North York, Toronto, Canada.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role is hands on operating machinery, accountable for directing and managing staff, including safety, production scheduling, manufacturing, maintenance, continuous improvement, quality, delivery, and cost.

The ideal candidate MUST HAVE 3 years relevant supervisory experience setting up ROLL FORMING MACHINES, Experience with BRAKE & PUNCH PRESS MACHINES, Toll & Die, and as well as welding skills.

Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.

What you’ll do:

* Lead and monitor production line tasks including ensuring production and quality tasks are properly recorded; meeting company housekeeping standards; performing root cause analysis and implementing solutions.

* Provide technical expertise in all responsible areas of the production floor.

* Help to setup and trouble shoot machines, and equipments on the production floor.

* Assures compliance of company policies and safety regulations with employees.

* Work with Material Planners/Schedulers to ensure compliance with production schedules, making certain products are prepared according to requirements and most delivery schedules.

* Prepare when needed periodic reports related to productivity, safety, and quality.

* Establishes or adjusts work procedures or schedules to meet customer’s requirements.

* Partner with Safety and/or HR to investigate, resolve and provide corrective measures for accidents, injuries, production, and personnel issues.

* Conduct staff / shift meetings to inform on planning and support safety.

*Other duties as required.

  • What you’ll bring:

* College or equivalent in operations management or engineering degree strongly preferred.

* Minimum of 5 years in manufacturing environment, with 3 years of previous supervisory experience in manufacturing.

* 3 Years experience setting-up ROLL FORMING machines.

* 3 years experience cold saw machines.

* 3 years experience setting -up brake and punch press machines

* 3 years experience with arc,mig,tig and miller robot welding machines.

* Able to manage an Unionized crew.

* Experience in Steel (other metals) manufacturing strongly preferred.

* Mechanical troubleshooting skills for industrial equipments is required, and excellent problem-solving skills

* Strong leadership and communication skills.

* Demonstrate ability to solve problems using Lean Manufacturing tools.

* Management experience a plus.

* AS400 and/or JDE (JD Edwards) experience a plus.

* Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (PPT, Word, Excel), HRIS system UKG, ADP Payroll system.

* Excellent communication skills

* Must be able to work OT on short notice
