Accountant - Financial Reporting

We are looking for a Accountant - Financial Reporting to join our client's team in Mississauga, Ontario. This long-term contract position is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and detail-oriented individual to contribute to financial reporting, tax compliance, and regulatory adherence within the transportation/logistics industry. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely financial processes while supporting organizational goals.Work model: 5 days in the office, Mississauga Contract: 12 mon + vacation/sick days + health and dental benefitsResponsibilities:- Coordinate and execute month-end closing tasks, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.- Manage monthly consumption tax returns and assist with annual corporate tax filings, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.- Oversee lease accounting processes, including classification, measurement, and disclosure in line with IFRS standards.- Compile required disclosures and supporting schedules for quarterly and annual financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.- Monitor changes in accounting standards and tax regulations, implementing updates to policies and procedures as necessary.- Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits, preparing required documentation and responding to inquiries.- Maintain strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.- Utilize Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and advanced Excel skills to manage financial data effectively.- Support multi-currency reporting processes and ensure accuracy in financial documentation.- Work closely with cross-functional teams to improve financial operations and reporting efficiencies.- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.- CPA designation with a minimum of 3 years of post-certification experience.- Proficiency in IFRS and other regulatory frameworks.- Strong skills in account reconciliation, general ledger management, and month-end close processes.- Advanced knowledge of Excel and experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central.- Familiarity with multi-currency financial reporting is preferred.- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a commitment to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
