The role guides technical decisions, creates project plans and schedules, drives process improvements, monitors progress, and ensures time and quality completion. It also manages stakeholder relationships and collaborates with product, engineering, and architecture teams.What You’ll DoOversee development and implementation of software solutions.Lead a team of engineers, providing mentorship and fostering professional development.Build strong teams through communication, technical mentorship, and collaboration.Recruit and onboard new team members.Define project scope and objectives, creating project plans and schedules.Monitor project progress, making adjustments to keep projects on track, identifying dependencies and mitigating risks.Collaborate with Product to define roadmaps.Manage relationships with stakeholders, including clients and vendors as necessary.Collaborate with other Engineering Managers and Architects to improve the Engineering function.Enforce and sometimes lead processes and practices defined by the organization.Stay up to date with industry trends and company development.Identify and address technical debt and other issues impacting maintainability, performance, scalability, and security.Implement and enforce software development best practices, such as code reviews, testing, and documentation.Manage and prioritize bug reports and feature requests.Ensure that customer support requests are promptly addressed by the team, making these a priority.What You’ll BringStrong technical background in software engineering.Proven experience leading and managing software development teams.Strong understanding of software development methodologies and processes.Excellent communication and leadership skills.Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.Experience with project management tools and techniques, planning and estimation.Experience with code and design reviews.Familiarity with industry best practices for software development, testing, and delivery.Understanding of software architecture and design patterns.Experience with software testing and quality assurance methodologies.Strong analytical skills.Strong understanding of software development life cycle.BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision for employee, partner, and children.Generous PTO and observed holidays.2 Paid Volunteer Days per year.Pension plan with company contribution.Employee Stock Purchase Program.Discounted gym access at several local facilities.Fund‑raising opportunities as part of our giving program.N‑ablite Learning custom learning experience.Hybrid working model based on trust and flexibility.About N‑ableN‑able, Inc.
