Intermediate Accountant

We are looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join our team in Kitchener, Ontario. This is a long-term contract position that offers an excellent opportunity to apply your accounting expertise in a collaborative and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of general accounting practices and a proven ability to handle complex reconciliations, journal entries, and financial adjustments.Responsibilities:- Review and validate accounts payable transactions for Canadian customers to ensure accuracy and compliance.- Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations while identifying and resolving discrepancies.- Manage intercompany charges and reconcile accounts to maintain accurate financial records.- Prepare, post, and verify journal entries in alignment with accounting standards.- Handle accruals and prepaid expenses, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.- Execute month-end adjustments and close processes to finalize financial statements.- Reconcile bank accounts to maintain transparency and accuracy in financial operations.- Utilize SAP accounting software system to streamline processes and ensure efficient reporting.- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.- Proficiency in general accounting knowledge, including account reconciliations and GL coding.- Familiarity with SAP accounting software systems- Experience with accounts payable processes and auditing practices.- Solid understanding of financial statement preparation and reporting.- Ability to work with intercompany accounts and handle reconciliations effectively.- Knowledge of ADP financial services or similar platforms is considered an asset.- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills to ensure accuracy in financial tasksRobert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
