Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Water Treatment Plant Construction Superintendent to join our team in Yellowknife, NT In this role you will get to provide leadership and expertise for the delivery of the water treatment plant construction.

Parsons is the Construction Manager of the Giant Mine Remediation Project. This is a world-class remediation project using innovative methods to deliver a safe environment. The project is expected to last over 10 years and is located just outside the City of Yellowknife, NWT. We are looking for a highly motivated and qualified Construction Superintendent who has experience managing site operations and projects.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Manages execution of the construction of the water treatment plant, ensuring compliance with the approved design.
  • Oversees and provides leadership/mentoring of project coordinators, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors executing the construction of the water treatment plant, monitoring performance and integrating the sequence of work to avoid conflicts and delays.
  • Ensures progress on construction complies with the scope of work, contract requirements, schedules, budget, quality standards, documentation, and safety expectations.
  • Interprets and implements technical specifications, assesses site conditions, and consults with the Project Engineer on design modifications as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and monitors work packages.
  • Ensures proper supervision is present on site during operations and execution of work.
  • Maintains quality of construction using the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) process, collaborating with the project engineer, quality manager, and project coordinators.
  • Controls subcontract closeout checklist workflow, including confirmation of substantial completion and final release.
  • Collaborates with various managers to ensure compliance with regulatory elements and health and safety for work executed by subcontractors.
  • Assists project engineer with preparation of monthly reports on work package progress with schedule and budget compliance assessment for delivery to the Senior Project Manager.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Geosciences, or related technical/business field or equivalent related experience.
  • 12+ years of experience in construction supervision and management.
  • 5+ years of work experience in heavy civil, northern mining, or remediation projects, working in Northern Canada.
  • Knowledgeable of industry practices and regulations.
  • Experience managing on-site activities of multiple subcontractors and resolving performance issues.
