Job Description:

The Area Manager leads and integrates the efforts of the operations teams to orchestrate the area resources across multiple shifts and assure quality product is safely manufactured in sanitary conditions. The Area Manager is responsible for managing the area within cost goals and produce sufficient quantities to meet our customer's demands with motivated and engaged associates. This person is also responsible for associate engagement and will need to effectively facilitate team meetings, coordinate communications within the production line and across all shifts. The successful candidate must have a thorough technical understanding and mastery of MSE/TPM, daily management systems and process controls for their lines. Continuous improvement mindset/experience is a key aspect of this role.

What are we looking for?
  • An undergraduate (Bachelor's) degree in Engineering, basic sciences or business-related disciplines.
  • 5+ years in a Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Environment and 3+ years people leadership experience.
  • Thorough technical knowledge of process, equipment, controls and products or ability to develop such knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (HACCP is strongly preferred).
  • Experience in plant sanitation practices and procedures.
  • Ability to convey communications clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to deliver critical performance feedback and hold Associates accountable to business objectives.
  • Champion of safety with OSHA experience or certification preferred.
What will be your key responsibilities?
  • Owns all Daily Management Systems (DMS) execution and leads the Changeover (CO), Centerlines (CL), Clean, Inspect, and Lubricate (CIL), and Anomaly Handling (AH) DMS.
  • Budget owner for Area/ Owns 24-hour responsibility for Line/Area .
  • Leads Daily Area Value Stream connection point meetings.
  • Support Commission, Validation, Startup (CVS) activities for capital projects.
  • Evaluate Associate performance, and, in conjunction with their career goals, create development plans to challenge their potential.
  • Conducts detailed analysis on performance data and integrates into Factory Mars Operating System (FMOS).
  • Drives loss elimination for assigned area to include Line Loss Analysis and development of 90-day action plans to address losses and build associate capability.
  • Leads Autonomous Maintenance (AM) process improvement teams to reduce downtime and loss elimination.
  • Leads and coaches teams on root cause problem solving efforts on key chronic losses for the area.
  • Champions all Safety and Quality standards and objectives for their area.
  • Identifies and executes asset improvements to achieve optimal line efficiencies.
  • Develop standards for equipment, systems, and processes across for their area.
