Job Opportunity: Activation Aide - Part-Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Activation Aide to join our team at Southbridge Care Homes. As an Activation Aide, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing programs and services that meet the physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of residents' needs to develop engaging and meaningful activities.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate diversified programs and services to promote resident participation and well-being.
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager and other departments to ensure seamless delivery of care services.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation using Activity Pro and Point Click Care.
  • Participate in care conferences and other committees to contribute to resident care planning.
  • Provide one-to-one support and encouragement to residents to promote their participation in programs.
  • Adhere to established department policies and procedures regarding quality improvement, fire safety, and infection control.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Resident Program Manager.

Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in Therapeutic Recreation, Leisure Studies, Gerontology, Activation, Kinesiology, or a related field.
  • Restorative Care Education Training (RCET) certificate an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as documentation skills.
  • Ability to read and write English fluently.
  • Knowledge and experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation for residents with varying needs.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • CPR and Emergency First Aid certification.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
