The Opportunity

As the Team Leader of Training, you will manage a portfolio of learning programs as well as projects, overseeing them from design through to implementation and maintenance. Implement innovative instructional design solutions, operate at both a strategic and tactical level, lead a growing team of curriculum design & developers (training specialists) and technical writers. In addition, partner with business leaders to drive our training modernization mandate forward.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership:

  • Day-to-day remote and onsite management, establishing job duties and responsibilities and providing mentoring to achieve optimal effectiveness.
  • Recruitment and hiring, goal setting, regularly scheduled individual and team meetingperformance reviews, performance management and other related employee-management tasks.
  • Take an active role in the training and ongoing education of team members (tutorials, TTT sessions, webinars, videos and more).

Business planning:

  • Oversee the Training Modernization's key project deliverables (e-learning modules, assessments, virtual facilitator training, content translation, curriculum design blueprint, leader guides, and more),
  • Anticipate and quantify risks and dependencies.
  • Provide timely and accurate status updates to the management team.

Collaboration with the key business stakeholders:

  • Evaluate, refine, and promote forward-thinking training solutions delivered via virtual and asynchronous/synchronous modalities.
  • Establish the evaluation of training programs to ensure they are responsive to the needs of the client.
  • Establish changes and redesign where necessary working alongside the Quality Assurance team.
  • Support the operating procedure and business process documentation governance as well as the lifecycle management and storage guidelines.
  • Work closely with the Quality Management Team, coordinate the tracking/reporting of training statistics to evaluate the adoption, coverage, and effectiveness of the training programs.

Training delivery:

  • Plan and organize the training material via online facilitation or distributed/distance learning through the LMS or different channel.
  • Conduct research and make recommendations for appropriate learning management system and databases and changes to existing programs, systems, and databases.

Innovation:

  • Modernize andaugment training content.
  • Leverage LMS (hybridising learning, tracking training completions, real-time assessments & learning needs, reporting metrics - ROI).
  • Upskill for curriculum design and development.
  • Partner with Operations to enhance the Training Program and increase capabilities.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in training and education, business and/or social sciences.

Work Experience: 3 years in people management experience, in addition to learning and development experience in a high-growth, corporate environment.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Having knowledge of adult learning principles in the development of training materials for a variety of delivery channels including eLearning, virtual classroom, training the trainer, self-study, blended learning, and web-enabled learning platforms.
  • A talent for problem solving, building consensus, and working autonomously.
  • Demonstrated project management, people management, leadership and coaching skills.
  • Ability to lead others in a fast-paced, evolving, and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be approachable, engaging, and supportive.
  • Collaboration, relationship building andinterpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrating ownership and accountability and being results-oriented.
  • Evaluating skills and assessing future needs and training requirements.
  • Superior client service orientation.

Computer Skills:Microsoft knowledge and strong computer skills are a must, knowledge of Workday and SAP are considered an asset.

Language skills: Bilingualism would be considered an asset
