**Environmental Services Manager**
A skilled professional is sought to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of a long-term care home in the GTA, ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents and staff.
**Job Description**
Welcome to Southbridge, a leading provider of long-term care homes and retirement communities in Southwestern Ontario. We are currently seeking an Environmental Services Manager to join our team.
**Responsibilities**
* Perform routine maintenance and servicing operations throughout the home, ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents and staff.
* Manage the housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance departments to achieve high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
* Supervise contractors' work to ensure fulfillment of contractual obligations.
* Prepare and manage departmental budgets, inventory management, and control.
* Participate in leadership team activities and responsibilities, including reporting and quality management.
**Daily Routine**
* Observe and monitor all areas of the facility for ongoing maintenance and servicing requirements.
* Document and implement preventative maintenance programs.
* Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs to equipment, plumbing, and electrical systems.
* Refer problems requiring specialized work to outside contractors and monitor work performed.
**Management Responsibilities**
* Support the Executive Director in hiring and performance management of departmental staff.
* Supervise contractors' work to ensure fulfillment of contractual obligations.
* Prepare and manage departmental budgets, inventory management, and control.
* Participate in leadership team activities and responsibilities, including reporting and quality management.
**Qualifications**
* Two-year post-secondary diploma or degree in Environmental Services/Building Services Management or related field.
* Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, and heating and ventilation systems.
* Experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
* Formal training in building maintenance is an asset.
* Health and safety certification is an asset.
* Ability to communicate effectively in both English and French preferred.
* Ability to complete a vulnerable sector check.
* Ability to work day shifts with some on-call capabilities.
* Ability to meet physical and safety requirements of the job.
