Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rental Shop Technician to join our team at the Town of Georgina. As a key member of our Recreation Services department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our ROC rental shop, ensuring a high level of customer service and providing a safe and enjoyable experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to guests, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Rental Shop Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the rental shop, including the management of rental equipment, staff supervision, and cash handling.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on rental equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition and meets safety standards.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and train Rental Shop Attendants, providing guidance and support to ensure they are meeting their responsibilities and providing excellent customer service.
  • Inventory Management: Manage the inventory of rental equipment, including ordering, receiving, and storing equipment.
  • Point of Sale: Process point of sale transactions, handle cash, credit, and debit transactions, and balance daily sales to align with computer reports.
  • Health and Safety: Participate in the Town's Health and Safety Program, following safety practices in work methods and procedures, and reporting any concerns or hazardous conditions to the Recreation Services Supervisor.
Requirements
  • Education: Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Experience: Previous supervisory experience in a rental shop or similar environment is considered an asset.
  • Skills: Excellent customer service skills, ability to work independently, strong organizational and communication skills, and knowledge of ski and snowboard binding, mounting, and tuning.
  • Certifications: Successful completion of Ski Binding Certification, within 1 month of date of hire (training to be provided upon employment).
