Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the University Health Network, providing expert care to patients with spinal and neurosurgical conditions.

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the Krembil Brain Institute, where you will work alongside a talented and inspiring team of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
• Collect and interpret data about patients' health
• Determine medical diagnoses and treat complex responses to actual or potential problems
• Engage in evidence-informed practice by critically appraising and applying research and best practice guidelines
• Play a leadership role and perform quality improvement
• Guide, initiate and provide leadership in policy and procedure development to advance care and patient experience
• Deliver, coordinate and participate in education and professional development activities/programs
• Perform activities to further develop and strengthen the profession
• Act as a resource and serve as a consultant to individuals and groups within the professional community and other hospital/agencies

Requirements
• Master's Degree in Nursing
• Registered Nurse (EC) certification
• Nurse Practitioner (NP) Adult certification
• Current Certificate of Competence and in good standing with College of Nurses of Ontario
• Three to five years nursing experience in an acute treatment centre with spinal patient population and/or other neurosurgical patient population
• Canadian Nurses Association certification in Neuroscience Nursing
• Experience in nursing research methodology
• Eligible for cross-appointment to an academic institution
• Membership in the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) and other organizations relevant to the role
• Excellent decision making, problem recognition and problem solving skills
• Effective interpersonal and customer services skills
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Program planning and evaluation methodology skills
• Commitment to collaborative practice
• Ability to work effectively independently, in a self-directed manner and across multiple competing demands
• Ability to utilize information technology
