About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Buildings Mechanical team in Halifax, NS. As an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in designing building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and building systems controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist a design team in preparing contract documents for mechanical systems;
  • Design new construction and renovations of building projects, including healthcare administration, laboratory, assembly, recreational, and residential facilities;
  • Coordinate design support staff across multiple disciplines;
  • Manage projects to meet budget and deliverables;
  • Meet and liaise with clients to ensure their needs are met;
  • Assist with business development and proposals;
  • Perform construction administration and field reviews;
  • Document, plan, and conduct commissioning and start-up activities.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering;
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada with eligibility for registration with Engineers Nova Scotia;
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the design of mechanical systems for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings;
  • Familiarity with design software, including AutoCAD and Revit;
  • Detail-oriented, organized, hardworking, with a team player attitude, and the ability to meet deadlines;
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites within Atlantic Canada.
