NL Marine Services Inc. (NL Marine) is a Newfoundland and Labrador owned and operated company that operates a wide range of vessels that support the province's oil and gas and aquaculture industries. We are seeking a highly motivated Chief Engineer to join one of our offshore oil and gas support vessels.
Responsibilities
- Capable of identifying failures, developing worklists, and carrying out preventative maintenance schedules.
- Execute all scheduled and corrective maintenance across the fleet of vessels.
- Keep records as required by ship standards including, logs, safety documents and other records as required or assigned.
- Safely and efficiently operate machinery systems and apply safety policies.
- Comprehend, operate and trouble -shoot the ship's electrical assets.
- Perform metal fabrication and machine work when required, including the use of lathe, welding equipment and other similar equipment.
- Responsible for maintaining proper inventory levels and ordering critical spares.
- Promote a safe and courteous atmosphere.
- Make improvements in a professional manner.
Qualifications
- Valid 4th class marine engineer's certificate
- Valid Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (completed within the last 5 -years).
- Valid Marine Emergency Duties
- Valid Transport Canada Seafarer's Marine Medical Certificate
- Experience with preventative maintenance software
An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
