Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Shift Lead to join our team at Conservation Halton. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading staff through daily shift tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead staff through daily shift tasks, including repetitive tasks and training new team members
  • Complete property maintenance tasks, including snow removal, litter pickup, and campsite maintenance
  • Perform custodial tasks, including cleaning washrooms, vault toilets, showers, and public areas
  • Operate small equipment, such as power washers, string trimmers, and blowers
  • Collect and transport garbage and recyclable materials for disposal/processing
  • Support setup, takedown, and operation of special events and functions
  • Work in accordance with Conservation Halton's Safety Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
Requirements
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience is an asset
  • Ability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
  • Able to work at any CH designated area as required and travel to a site not serviced by public transportation
  • Customer service mindset, ability to anticipate needs, and strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time
  • A valid Ontario Driver's License, minimum Class "G", with a satisfactory Driver's Abstract
