Strategic Sourcing Manager

The Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing is a key role within the Strategic Sourcing organization at Walmart Canada, responsible for leading the strategic planning and sourcing process for a portfolio of indirect spend categories. This includes defining and executing strategic sourcing goals, developing and implementing initiatives to support Walmart Canada's strategies, and reducing total cost of ownership.
Key Responsibilities- Develop innovative approaches to strategic sourcing, utilizing analytics and processes to determine scenarios, benefits, risks, and change management impact.
- Engage and build relationships with business partners, demonstrating persuasive leadership skills to influence compliance with Walmart Canada sourcing policies.
- Create a two to three-year strategic sourcing portfolio strategy, identifying risk and opportunities across the organization, and driving the development of individual and team initiatives to achieve strategy.
- Engage with international markets to drive alignment to category strategies and identify multi-market leverage opportunities.
- Implement the corporate Strategic Sourcing and Category Management process, using BuyIt Sourcing tool, and develop and maintain a process for evaluating and selecting vendors in accordance with established guidelines and best practices.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships, driving continuous improvement in areas of cost savings, quality, and risk management.
- Participate in strategic business reviews as part of the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process, and support identification of new savings and sourcing pipeline opportunities.
- 10+ years of professional strategic sourcing experience leading multi-category sourcing teams for direct and/or indirect spend.
- Track record of leading the continuous improvement of sourcing and category management programs.
- Expertise in negotiations and contracting, including e-sourcing, should-cost models, leveraged agreements, multi-year contracts, complex terms and conditions, performance incentives, and management of corporate risk.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional project teams, ability to influence others through both direct and indirect networks, a consensus builder, and a change agent.
- Strong orientation to team leadership, coaching, collaboration, and positive communication.
- Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation skills, comfortable and credible with both internal stakeholders and external audiences.
