About the Role

The Cove Guest Home, a long-term care facility in Sydney, Nova Scotia, is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team.

As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing high-quality resident care, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our 110 residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Resident Clinical Coordinator/Director of Care to develop and implement resident care plans
  • Provide direct care to residents, including administering medications and treatments
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to ensure resident needs are met
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance resident care
Requirements
  • Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses (NSCN)
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • Ability to work all shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Current CPR certification
  • Experience in gerontological nursing, with a focus on Alzheimer's and related dementia care
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attendance and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search
