Registered Nurse, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit

Registered Nurses are sought to provide direct patient care in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, BC.
The Registered Nurse will assess, plan, provide and evaluate nursing care to patients in an acute medical unit, collaborating with the interprofessional care team to ensure comprehensive care planning and delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
• Assessing patients and collecting information from various sources to make nursing diagnoses and determine the effectiveness of nursing interventions
• Collaborating with patients and their families/caregivers to develop and implement care plans
• Participating in care and discharge planning processes
• Coordinating nursing care and prioritizing tasks
• Collaborating with the interprofessional care team to identify and resolve issues
• Teaching patients and families/caregivers about illness prevention, health restoration and health maintenance
• Documenting assessments, nursing diagnoses, observations, interventions and outcomes
Qualifications:
• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
• Completion of applicable post-graduate coursework or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
