Optometric Assistant sought for full-time position at LMC Healthcare's Vaughan, London, Bayview, and Scarborough locations.

LMC Healthcare is Canada's largest specialist care provider in diabetes & endocrinology, transforming diabetes care by making it more accessible, comprehensive, and patient-centric.

As an Optometric Assistant, you will work with a team of highly qualified professionals, including 60+ Endocrinologists, to provide exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients in person, by phone, or online
  • Book and schedule appointments
  • Mark recalls and cold calls to book appointments
  • Pretest patients and perform auxiliary tests
  • Explain procedures and costs to patients
  • Check-in and check out patients in the clinic
  • Facilitate patient referrals to other healthcare professionals
  • Assist with ordering contact lenses
  • Ensure the office is billed properly for orders and credits
Requirements:
  • High School or College Graduate
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, friendly and caring, outgoing personality
  • Customer service experience is essential
  • Confidence in cold calling
  • Proficient with computers and Excel spreadsheets
  • Able to follow directions and take personal responsibility
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Passion for learning and dealing with people
  • Able to follow through on tasks with attention to detail
  • Able to multitask
