**Job Summary:** Coordinate utility relocations, supervise field engineering and construction activities, and assist in technical reviews of project designs to ensure compliance with utility-related issues.

Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects are undertaking the design, build, and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package. As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.

The project will strengthen Ontario's economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction. Faster, more frequent, and reliable access to rapid transit with more than 227,500 people will live within a 10-minute walk of an Ontario Line station.

  • Improve the quality of life for commuters by reducing daily travel time.
  • Reduce crowding on the existing Line 1 (Yonge-University) subway.
  • Up to 57,000 more jobs accessible by transit (in 45 minutes or less) for Toronto residents.
  • Economic and community growth along the future transit line and thousands of job opportunities annually during construction.
  • Reduction in traffic congestion, greenhouse gases, and fuel consumption by providing an alternative transportation option.

Coordinate and manage utility relocations as required. Supervise and coordinate field engineering and construction activities. Assist in the coordination of temporary or permanent relocations/installations of utilities including but not limited to: water (transmission and distribution), sanitary sewer, storm sewer, (district heating and cooling).

  • Assist in the technical review of project designs with respect to utility-related issues to ensure compliance with Utility Asset Owner and/or Utility Authority design criteria and applicable specifications and standards.
  • Participate in meetings with internal and external design teams.
  • Participate in the development of contractual strategies to facilitate utility relocations and/or the integration of utility work into construction contracts.
  • Assist in the analytical review and evaluation of the costs/risks and decision to relocate or support/protect utilities.
  • Advise project staff of what issues require resolution within the construction contracts to ensure full coordination and compliance with standing agreements and/or standards with Utility Asset Owners.
  • Contribute to the development of a construction plan and to manage subcontractor activities.
  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
  • Attend meetings as required with Clients, Municipal Agencies and other Consultants.
  • Take the lead on productivity issues and monitor work performance and efficiency of subcontractors to ensure project plans and schedule are followed and project is executed effectively and within budget.
  • Tracking and collection of documentation for extra work, submittals, and backup for billing purposes.
  • Tracking and documenting project schedule activity, start, finish, % complete and major milestones.
  • Oversee SUE investigations and Condition Survey tasks.
  • Perform other related administrative or project-based duties as assigned.
  • Occasional Weekend and Night works will be required.

University degree or college diploma in Civil Engineering, Municipal Engineering, or similar field. Minimum 2 years of Experience with preparing technical drawings and technical reports. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, experience with GIS and other digital tools would be an asset.
