Job Summary
Part-time research assistant in the Centre for Gambling Research at UBC assisting with volunteer recruitment and screening, and assisting with running testing sessions for different projects. Under direction from the supervisor, will perform research tasks to support a range of research projects at the Centre.

The research assistant will interact closely with a postdoctoral fellow, and with student researchers and other members of the research team.

Work Performed

Assists with recruitment of participants including people who gamble regularly, and have problems with their gambling, from the Greater Vancouver area. This may involve running recruitment booths, local advertising, and use of social media.

Assists with running participants through experimental procedures, including projects involving brain imaging and psychophysiology. All components follow set lab protocols. .

Assists with screening of interested participants, to establish eligibility for specific projects in the laboratory. This may include discussing sensitive topics.

Work will be checked by the two Principal Investigators (Clark & Winstanley) on a regular basis. There is room for individual initiative and a need to resolve problems using basic good judgment and common sense.
