Manage inventory and supplies for maintenance operations, ensuring efficient and cost-effective delivery of parts and materials.

The Maintenance Inventory Controller is responsible for the smooth operation of the Maintenance Stores Department, providing parts and materials for maintenance, repair, and overhaul of equipment while optimizing inventory levels to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Conform to safe operating practices and maintain a clean and safe workplace.
  • Manage MRO inventory through the CMMS inventory and purchasing modules.
  • Procure inventory and replacement parts to meet project and planned work requirements in a cost-effective manner.
  • Manage inventory supplier contracts to agreed vendor performance levels.
  • Conduct ongoing ABC analysis of MRO inventory and make recommendations for necessary changes.
  • Maintain CMMS inventory and purchasing data base for accuracy.
  • Receive and process incoming shipments and maintain files for all transactions.
  • Restock shelves daily and assist in quotations for work orders and projects.
  • Create new part records and maintain parts identification systems.
  • Ensure bar code labeling systems are accurate and updated.
  • Perform inventory audits to maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Maintain confidentiality for all business plans and activities.
  • Monitor remote parts cribs and work effectively with internal and external contacts.
  • Create purchase orders in Maximo and COUPA.

Key qualifications include:

  • Strong organizational and computer skills with working knowledge of CMMS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project.
  • Self-motivated individual who works well with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance techniques and work order flow.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in production inventory management.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in production/inventory management.
  • Able to rely on judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Excellent time management and detail-oriented skills.
