Telesat is seeking a Flight Dynamics Analyst to join a small team of dedicated professionals to perform satellite stationkeeping, orbit determination, and momentum control in support of Telesat and its customer satellite operations programs.





The successful candidate will work on developing and implementing automated tools for maneuver upload, execution and monitoring, and analyses of related topics. Key responsibilities include:

• Planning satellite maneuvers to meet stationkeeping requirements using Telesat's Flight Dynamics System while minimizing fuel usage.
• Monitoring and maintaining orbit determination and maneuver reconstruction processes.
• Monitoring fuel usage and maneuver performance.
• Planning and monitoring relocation campaigns to move satellites from one station longitude to another.
• Developing software procedures for use by the Satellite Control Centre for the purpose of maneuver upload, execution and monitoring along with other orbit, attitude and momentum control related tasks.
• Overseeing execution of satellite maneuvers as required to ensure success.
• Participating in Transfer Orbit Service (TOS) programs as required, performing orbit determination and generating tracking predicts.
• Preparing and presenting reports for Telesat and its customers.
• Developing stationkeeping strategies and reviewing plans collaboratively.
• May lead development teams in the management of Flight Dynamics related preparations for new satellite programs or initiatives.
• Participating in development projects in collaboration with Satellite Engineers and Systems Software to implement timely and effective procedures for new programs or in response to satellite anomalies.
• Providing technical guidance to other analysts.





The ideal candidate will have a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or the equivalent. Strong background in statistics, calculus, orbital mechanics, and computer programming is required. Experience in satellite stationkeeping planning and developing software is an asset. The ability to learn new tools and work effectively in a team environment is critical.





The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods program (CGP).
